Analysis of Lead (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd) in Oyster Crassostrea gigas and Saccostrea cucullata using Atomic Absorption and Ultraviolet-Visible Spectrophotometer Methods

Lead (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd) metals are highly toxic when accumulated in the body cause serious diseases even death. This study aimed to determine metal content of Pb Cd oyster species Crassostrea gigas Saccostrea cucullate Lampulo Krueng Cut areas at three different places. Analysis was carried out using AAS UV-Visible spectrophotometers. Samples were prepared concentrated HNO3 wet destruction addition dithizone. The results showed measured by cucullata 2.33-8.00 ppb, UV-Vis 2.77-8.66 ppb. within method 1.77-10.30 2.11-10.66 is 3.80-10.50 4.29-10.77 whereas 12.11-13.22 ppb 12.77-13.66 Linearity measurements with obtained R2 =0.9979 =0.9938 for =0.9986 =0.9810. Accuracy (%recorvery) 80-110% 98-113% 100-106% 91-107% respectively. relative value standard deviation (%RSD ± SD) 0.001 indicating excellent measurement results.
